Open or redesign your own PowerPoint

Open a .pptx file as an editable presentation, or turn an old deck into a new one in a fresh design.

There are two ways to work with a PowerPoint file you already have: open it as it is, or let the AI rebuild its content in a new design.

Steps

  1. 1To open a file as it is, go to My Projects and click Upload PPTX, or drop the file onto the page.
  2. 2Wait while the tile shows Opening, Pictures and Saving. A single file then opens in the editor.
  3. 3Edit its texts, pictures, tables and charts like any other slide.
  4. 4To redesign an old deck instead, drop the .pptx onto the prompt on the home page.
  5. 5Add a few words, pick a design and click Create Slides. The content stays, the slides are new.

Tip: In the editor, Adopt the style takes the colours and fonts of an opened file over to the presentation.

Good to know

  • .pptx, .ppsx, .potx and .pptm files can be opened. Old .ppt files must be saved as .pptx first.
  • Only presentations in 16:9 can be opened, and files with a password cannot.
  • Free opens one file at a time, Pro up to 10 and Business up to 25 at once.
  • Every opened file counts as a presentation of your account.

FAQ

Can I open a PDF this way?

No. A PDF is a document: attach it to the prompt on the home page and a presentation is made from it.
