The export looks different
Why fonts or details can change in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote, and how to fix it.

The PDF looks exactly like the editor. A PowerPoint file is drawn by PowerPoint itself, so a few things can look slightly different.
Steps
- If a font looks wrong in PowerPoint, check whether that font is installed on your computer.
- Install the deck's fonts (they are Google Fonts, free to download), or switch the deck to a font you have in the Design tab.
- Export the file again and open it.
- In Google Slides, page through the deck once: it has fewer effects than PowerPoint.
- If you need the deck to look exactly like the editor, export a PDF.
Good to know
- Fonts are not embedded in the .pptx; PowerPoint uses the ones on the computer that opens it.
- Fonts that match Office fonts are written as them, for example Arimo as Arial and Carlito as Calibri.
- PowerPoint gives tables and chart bars square corners, and draws a check or cross in a table as a character.
- A few elements, such as rotated charts, arrive as pictures.
