Thank you for using ExpertSlides, operated by ES Solutions GmbH. This Refund Policy outlines our policies regarding refunds for our digital products and subscription services. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.
214-Day Fair Use Refund Policy
As a general principle, sales of digital products are final and non-refundable — this is particularly the case for credit-consuming services such as ours, where each generation immediately incurs computational and third-party costs that cannot be reversed once delivered. Notwithstanding the above, and as a goodwill gesture, ExpertSlides offers a discretionary 14-day refund window from the date of purchase, granted strictly on a fair-use basis.
How the fair-use assessment works:
- Refund requests must be submitted within 14 calendar days of the original transaction via our support channel.
- Eligibility depends on actual usage of the service. Accounts that have substantially consumed the credits or features included in the plan are not eligible for a refund.
- If our team determines, in its reasonable discretion, that you have only marginally tested the product, we will process the refund in good faith.
- ExpertSlides reserves the right to grant a full refund, a partial refund, or to decline the request, in each case based on the customer's compliance with the fair-use criteria set out in our Terms & Conditions.
- All refund decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and are final once communicated.
By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that, beyond this discretionary fair-use window, you waive any further right of withdrawal in respect of digital content already delivered, in line with the legal framework set out in the following section.
3Legal Basis
Supported by consumer protection laws in multiple jurisdictions
European Union
Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive), consumers lose their right of withdrawal for digital content once the download or streaming has begun, provided the consumer has given prior express consent and acknowledged that they thereby lose their right of withdrawal. By purchasing and accessing our services, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge the loss of your right of withdrawal.
Germany
According to § 356 (5) BGB (German Civil Code), the right of withdrawal expires for contracts for the supply of digital content not on a physical medium if the entrepreneur has begun performance after the consumer has expressly consented and acknowledged that they lose their right of withdrawal.
United States
Under U.S. law, there is no federal mandate requiring refunds for digital goods. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) permits sellers to establish their own refund policies for digital products, provided these policies are clearly disclosed before purchase. Additionally, the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and state consumer protection laws generally recognize that digital goods, once delivered or accessed, cannot be "returned" in the traditional sense.
International Standards
Similar provisions exist in other jurisdictions worldwide, including the UK (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), Australia (Australian Consumer Law), and Canada (various provincial consumer protection acts). These laws consistently recognize that digital products, once accessed or downloaded, are exempt from standard refund requirements due to their intangible and instantly deliverable nature.
4Subscription Cancellation
While refunds are not available, you may cancel your subscription at any time. Here's what happens when you cancel:
- You will retain full access to your subscription benefits until the end of your current billing period.
- Your account will not be charged for the next billing cycle.
- Any unused credits will remain available until your subscription period ends.
- After your subscription ends, your account will revert to the Starter plan.
- You can resubscribe at any time to regain access to premium features.
